The Venus Clam, created by Swedish artist Sa Jungnelius, is inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s famous 1480s painting The Birth of Venus, which depicts the Roman goddess Venus emerging on a clam shell after being born from the sea. This decorative piece serves a dual role as both an art object and a dish, and it is part of the Kosta Boda Artist Collection. Handmade at Kosta Glassworks in Sweden, the Venus Clam features a subtle pink colour, achieved by melting down glass combined with pigments obtained from a ceramic crucible.
